Residential Project – Notting Hill, London

This project involved the complete end-to-end refurbishment of a top-floor flat situated within the prestigious Hereford Mansions, a luxury apartment block in Notting Hill, London. Unlike many of TP Construction’s previous undertakings, this particular project saw a close collaboration with an interior designer rather than an architect, allowing for a highly detailed and aesthetically driven approach to the renovation.

The Refurbishment Process: Honouring Tradition with Modernity

The refurbishment encompassed a wide range of intricate tasks. Our expert team of carpenters undertook the painstaking work of refurbishing all sash windows, restoring them to their former glory while ensuring modern functionality. Similarly, all internal doors, ornate cornices, elegant ceiling roses, and detailed architraves were either refurbished or meticulously reproduced to perfectly match the existing traditional aesthetic. This commitment to preserving and enhancing the property’s historical character was paramount throughout the project.

  • The living spaces were transformed to create an atmosphere of refined comfort. The main reception rooms, adorned with a soothing light blue palette, feature classic fireplaces that serve as focal points. The integration of bespoke shelving and storage solutions ensures both practicality and seamless design.
  • The fireplace, a central feature, was carefully restored, highlighting the intricate details of the mantelpiece and the classic fire basket within.
  • A dedicated study or library area was created, featuring extensive built-in shelving, providing ample space for books and display items, all while maintaining the elegant design continuity.
  • The kitchen was completely redesigned with a striking contemporary feel, featuring vibrant blue cabinetry and warm wooden countertops, offering a perfect blend of style and functionality.
  • The bathroom, a serene retreat, combines classic fixtures with a light and airy feel, featuring a traditional bathtub and a stylish vanity.
  • Even the views from the flat were considered, offering glimpses of the surrounding Notting Hill architecture and greenery, connecting the interior with its vibrant urban setting.

Navigating Challenges: The COVID-19 Lockdown

One of the most significant challenges faced during this project was its execution amidst the unprecedented COVID-19 lockdown. This required immense tenacity and adaptability from the entire TP Construction team. We understood the importance of maintaining strong relationships with the neighbours in Hereford Mansions, and proactive communication became a cornerstone of our approach.

Throughout the lockdown, we held regular consultations with residents, keeping them informed of our progress and, more importantly, reassuring them about the stringent health and safety measures we had implemented. Social distancing protocols were rigorously observed at all times, ensuring the well-being of our team, the residents, and the wider community. This commitment to safety and transparent communication allowed the project to proceed smoothly, minimising disruption and fostering a sense of trust.

The Outcome: A Harmonious Blend of Luxury and Modern Living

The successful completion Hereford Mansions, stands as a testament to TP Construction’s ability to deliver high-quality, intricate refurbishments, even under challenging circumstances.
