Comprehensive Renovation: A Vision Realised
The scope of works at 54 Alderney Street was extensive, reflecting the client’s desire for a truly bespoke living space. The renovation began with a complete gutting of the property, stripping it back to its bare bones to allow for a comprehensive re-imagining of the interior layout and infrastructure.
Key structural interventions included the ambitious opening up of the existing basement. This critical phase involved intricate structural steelwork to create new, expansive lower-ground living areas, significantly increasing the usable footprint of the home. A major design highlight was the innovative manipulation of natural light, strategically guiding it from the front to the rear of the property, creating a sense of openness and airiness throughout.
Beyond the structural enhancements, the refurbishment extended to every corner of the property. This encompassed all-new electrical systems, state-of-the-art plumbing, and the installation of a modern air conditioning system across the top two floors, ensuring ultimate comfort and energy efficiency. Every surface, fixture, and finish was meticulously selected and installed to the highest standards, blending contemporary luxury with subtle nods to the property’s original character.

Furthermore, we collaborated with the talented interior designer, Emma Farquharson, who played a crucial role in the meticulous detailing and when retaining and enhancing the property’s original features, ensuring a harmonious blend of old and new.
